Teenager stamped on in attempted robbery
The 17-year-old was near the Primrose Lane entrance to the greenway, in Liversedge, between 7pm-7.30pm yesterday evening when he was approached by four Asian men who asked him for the time.
When he told them he had left his phone at his mother’s hosue one of the attackers said: “Why are you lying?”

Hide AdHe then tried to pull the victim’s hands from his jacket pockets and the group rugby tackled him to the ground before stamping on his head and body.
Det Insp Ian Thornes, of Kirklees CID, said: “No violence is justifiable, but this was a really over-the-top attack.”
The teenager was taken to Dewsbury and District Hospital but was released with only minor injuries.
The group’s leader was described as wearing a black hooded top.
