Hide AdShakeel Ahmed, a biomedical scientist at Dewsbury, is among those taking part.
He said: “I’ve not really had any management experience. This is a way of improving my leadership skills and having more of an insight into what is needed to be a manager.”
Pathology service manager Emma Godfrey hopes to learn from other departments.
“I’ve just moved into a new role managing more people,” she said. “I need it to help me develop and build links across the Trust.”
Academy members will manage projects, take part in lectures and write assignments over 12 months.
They get a Trust talent rating, making them prime candidates for promotion.
